Dilation and curettage procedure, also called D&C, is a surgical procedure in which the cervix is dilated so the uterine lining can be scraped to remove abnormal tissues.
Removing tissue in the uterus after a miscarriage, abortion, or removing small pieces of placenta after childbirth. Diagnosing and treating abnormal uterine bleeding are just some of the reasons to have a D&C completed.
